In 2019, Parkview Legacy Foundation was born out of a healthcare conversion following the sale of Parkview Community Hospital Medical Center (501c3) to AHMC Healthcare Incorporated. The hospital’s sale to a for-profit corporation necessitated the closure of the Parkview Community Hospital Foundation , which had been supporting the hospital since 1973, and the development of a new non-profit organization to support the community.
The CEO and Board were thus given the opportunity to reassess the needs of the community and develop a new plan to advance a renewed Vision with the Mission to ADVANCE THE PROBABILITY OF WELLNESS THROUGH SOCIAL DETERMINANTS OF HEALTH.
This mission is the driving force that motivates Parkview Legacy Foundation's service to the residents of the Riverside Region. The Foundation is committed to addressing four focus areas essential to the attainment and sustainability of health and well-being: housing stability, social mobility, whole health accessibility, and integrated solutions.
Since Parkview Legacy Foundation’s inception, its CEO, Damien O’Farrell has focused his efforts and depth of experience on working with community-based organizations throughout the Inland Region. He has helped build collaborations that can more effectively and efficiently target the root causes and adverse outcomes of poverty. Damien has been a leader and resource, as well as a trusted partner and supporter to many organizations. He has laid the groundwork for a firm and focused approach to meeting Parkview Legacy Foundation’s mission.
The final processes for the capitalization of Parkview Legacy Foundation were completed in late 2024. Damien and the Board of Directors are enthusiastic about financially investing in organizations and initiatives address our mission in service of the community moving forward. The Parkview Legacy Foundation Impact Grant Program is now active and prepared to accept inquiries about its three funds: Special Needs, Core Operations and Capacity, and Collective Impact.
